Roots and Courage is committed to ensuring that your privacy & data is protected. You can be assured that your data will only be used in accordance with the privacy statement below.

Core Principles regarding user privacy & data protection

  • User privacy & data protection are inviolable human rights

  • I have a duty of care to people contained within this data

  • Data is a liability: it should only be collected & processed when absolutely necessary

  • I disagree with spam in all its forms

  • I will never sell, rent or otherwise distribute or make public any personal information

 

Personal Data: Name, Email Address, Phone Number, Date of Birth

I have a legitimate interest to retain your personal data while you are attending workshops or sessions so that I can keep you up to date. I will contact you primarily by email, though at times it might be appropriate to contact you via phone e.g. in the event of a last-minute session cancellation. Your data will be used by me only (unless I am co-facilitating the workshop with another facilitator, in which case I may share your name with them so that they also know who’s attending the workshop).

The lawful basis (laid out under Article 6(1) of the UK GDPR) I’m relying on in order to collect and use your personal data is Consent: the individual has given clear consent for me to process their personal data for a specific purpose. Your name, date of birth, email address & phone number will be stored safely (you may be giving consent for me to use 1 or more of these).

  • When you sign up to my mailing list, your email address will be stored in my Mailchimp account, and protected by Mailchimp’s Privacy Policy. I use email addresses to send out my newsletter/updates on upcoming offerings (I do this approx. every 4 - 8 weeks). The email address you give me will only be used for the newsletter/updates and will not be shared with any other third parties. At times I will invite workshop participants to be added to my mailing list at workshops/events. They will have the opportunity to write their email address on a piece of paper if they wish to be added to mailing list. When I do this, I will transfer your hand-written email address to my electronic mailing list (stored by Mailchimp) and securely shred the paper form at the first opportunity. You can unsubscribe from my mailing list at any time using the Unsubscribe button at the bottom of the newsletter or emailing me. If you don't unsubscribe, your email address will remain in the Mailchimp database for as long as I continue to use this system.

  • When you sign up to events and workshops, your name, email address, phone number and date of birth will be stored securely by Eventbrite, in my email system (Gmail – protected via Google privacy systems) and on my Google Drive. I access all of these platforms on my laptop & phone, which are both password protected. My laptop is protected by anti-virus software. I use this data in order to know who will be attending the event, to be able to identify you, and to keep you informed about the event you have signed up to. In the event of me facilitating a workshop with a co-facilitator(s), I will share your name with the co-facilitator(s) so that they can also identify you by name. Other than this, your information will not be shared with any third parties (except with your express written permission or with medical professionals in an emergency situation).

  • You can request to see any data I hold on you – I will supply this within one month.

  • Once you have left a Roots and Courage workshop or session, you can request that your contact details (email address and phone number) are erased. They will be erased from all the places in which they have been stored (e.g. Gmail, Google Drive, Mailchimp, Eventbrite and my phone) within one month of receiving the request. Note: In order to satisfy my insurance and other legal requirements, I must securely retain records of who has attended my sessions (i.e. name and date of birth) and any contraindications which could give rise to a claim, for a period of 7 years. If you wish for this information to be deleted from my records, I am able to do this after a period of 7 years from the date you last attended a workshop/session with me.

Data Breaches

I will report any unlawful data breaches to the relevant people & authorities within 72 hours of the breach if it is apparent that personal data stored in an identifiable manner has been stolen.

-This site & all the information it contains, including but not limited to, name, logos, text, blog posts & photographs, are the property of Raphaela Rasch. In some instances, stock photographs have been downloaded with permission. If other photographs have been used, they are my own or have been reproduced with credit to the photographer. Reviews on the website are genuine & have been published with clients’ permission. All rights to all content are reserved.
